Team Myers crosspost!

Hi friends. If you’re not following my husband Cory’s food blog, Food Falls, Scarf Dakota, you should be. Today’s post is an audio post on the opening of the Falls Park Farmers Market this coming Saturday, May 5. I love Sioux Falls’ various farmers’ markets, and my favorite is the 8th and RR market. Visit http://foodfalls.tumblr.com/post/22328444078/the-farmers-market-starts-saturday-and-i-honor to hear Cory’s post, and we’ll see you on Saturday!

Springish

Hello, friends. It’s spring! My apologies for jumping right in and posting photos with nary a word about the past growing season.

Last summer was great. I ended up with nearly 50 pots on the deck, and my plants produced well after the first frost. I still have several freezer bags full of peppers and tomatoes squirreled away that need to be used before summer.

News this spring: I have vowed to plan more this season instead of just picking up every container and plant that catches my eye at the garden center. Also starting more plants from seed this year, including more leafy greens instead of the multitude of pepper plants. Finally, we have a new addition to our basement - a small deep freeze! Hoping this will translate to fewer bruised toes from sharp-cornered freezer bags falling out of the over-stuffed freezer in the kitchen.

Full planting list coming soon. What are you planting this season?
